Pickets continue in front of Shorelines Casino Belleville where almost 100 employees, members of Unifor Local 1090, are on strike.
Local president Corey Dalton says no new talks are planned.
Management is currently operating the casino.
The president of Great Canadian Gaming, Chuck Keeling, told Quinte News they are seeking a court injunction to stop what he calls an illegal blockade after striking workers allegedly would not allow customers or other staff into the parking lot on Saturday.
Dalton says they have made adjustments to their picket lines for safety reasons and are not keeping anyone from entering.
“They can expect when they get there that there will be some delays while workers stop vehicles. Obviously we’re trying to slow vehicles down, enter safely and get our message out there, the reason why workers are on the picket line … what our fight is right now.”
“We’ve been clear to the company that we want to be at the bargaining table trying to discuss getting a fair agreement and getting workers back to work. And that’s where our priorities are.”
