The Picton Pirates took to the road Friday night to take on the Napanee Raiders at the Strathcona Paper Centre in PJHL action.
The Raiders jumped out to an early lead but the Pirates answered back when Jack Dow netted one with assists from Nick Kirby and Derrick Vos.
The score remained at 1-1 heading into the intermission but just one minute into the second Napanee retook the lead.
Late in the second and on the power play, the Raiders capitalized to make it 3-1.
In the last minute of the second period, Nate Boomhour’s solo effort brought the Pirates within one but the Raiders shut down the Picton offence and scored a late empty netter to ice the game with a final score of 4-2.
The Pirates are on the road again Sunday when they take on the Amherstview Jets with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
