Suspended driver
On October 22, 2021 at 8:20 a.m., a Belleville police officer on patrol stopped a motor vehicle on Cannifton Parkway at McFarland Avenue. A check of the driver revealed her driver’s licence was suspended and she was unable to provide any valid insurance for the vehicle. As a result, the 25-year-old Corbyville resident was charged with driving while suspended, driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit and operating a motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance. The driver was given a December 7, 2021 court date.
Unauthorized plates
On October 22, 2021 at 10 p.m., a Belleville police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Benjamin Street regarding plates not associated to the vehicle. As a result of the investigation the 17-year-old driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle with no licence and using plates not authorized for the vehicle. A 17-year old passenger was charged with being the owner of a motor vehicle and permitting it to be operated with no insurance. Another 17-year-old passenger was additionally charged with possessing cannabis while being under 19 years old. The driver and passengers were given a court date of December 7, 2021.
