Some residents on large rural properties in Centre Hastings want to decrease the size of lot necessary to keep livestock and poultry.
Currently Centre Hastings only allows animals and poultry to be kept on properties 30 acres and larger.
At its meeting this week council made a recommendation to lessen the requirement to 15 acres, similar to what neighbouring municipalities allow.
However, that change won’t come into effect until an Official Plan update is completed sometime within the next year.
