The following is a message from YMCA of Central East Ontario CEO David Allan
ECE Appreciation Day is Today, but they are truly every day heroes.
We need to thank them for their hard work, cherish and understand the impacts these wonderful individuals make in the lives of our children, our families and our communities.
The parents were excited to be back, the children were excited to be back and the ECE staff just as excited to be back to what they love; making a difference in the development of children. ECE workers are a special breed, there is something special inside of these individuals who each and every day lift the spirits of children and families.
As a community, we are lucky to have such professionals and heroes in our midst, as a YMCA they live, breath and embody our mission and values. As a community we need to express our thanks for the hard work of child-care professionals who made it possible for people to go to work in essential roles amid the pandemic and the lockdowns.
Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day is today, Oct. 21 and we owe our thanks to all child-care professionals for all they do to help our children, our families and our communities. Their impact in making our communities the best place to live and their contributions cannot be emphasized enough. Today maybe identified as ECE Appreciation Day, but we as a community and society should be thankful every day for the difference they make.
YMCAs are the largest provider of not-for-profit child care in Ontario. The YMCA of Central East Ontario provides families with care in 4 full day child care centres and in 18 Before and After School care programs in school locations in Belleville & Quinte and Peterborough regions.
