Seven people are charged in connection with a drug investigation in Quinte West.
Monday morning around 8 a.m., the OPP Street Crime Unit, the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a Bay Street residence in Trenton while police also conducted two vehicle stops.
Quinte West OPP say a A quantity of suspected cocaine and Percocets as well as two weapons were seized.
Nine people were arrested with police charging seven and releasing the other two unconditionally.
Forty-year-old Jessie Draker of Quinte West and 39-year-old Ronald McCloskey of Loyalist Township are charged with:
- Possess schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possess proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
Additionally, Draker is charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order. Both accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear for bail on October 19, 2021.
Thirty-one-year-old Tyler Daines of Quinte West, 37-year-old Shannon Hartman of Tyendinaga First Nation and 26-year-old Kendra Sherbert of Frontenac are charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Additionally, Daines is charged with possession of a schedule I substance – Percocets, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order and Sherbert is charged with possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine.
Hartman and Sherbert were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 15, 2021 while Daines was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 19, 2021.
Forty-two-year-old Kenneth Phillips of Quinte West is charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and 45-year-old Steven Courneyea of Ottawa is with five counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Both were held for a bail hearing on October 19, 2021.
