The Belleville Police Service responded to 85 calls from October 15, 2021 at 5 a.m. to October 16, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Arrested on Warrants
On October 15, 2021 at at 12:30 p.m., an officer was on general patrol in the area of Pinnacle Street and observed a female who was wanted on warrants. Belleville resident Ashley Whiteside-Lalonde was wanted on warrants for failing to comply with probation, five counts of failing to comply with a release order, failing to appear for court and failing to comply with an undertaking. Further investigation revealed that the female was also wanted by Prince Edward County OPP for failing to comply with a release order. Whiteside-Lalonde was held for a bail hearing on October 16, 2021.
Assault
On October 15, 2021 at 9:54 p.m., police responded to a call on Church Street regarding two male parties engaged in a fight. Upon further police investigation, one male had received minor injuries that did not require medical attention while a second male was arrested for assault. Thirty-four-year-old Orillia resident Andrew Scriver was arrested and charged with one count of assault and released on an undertaking with a court date of November 25, 2021.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On October 15, 2021 at 10:34 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Bell Boulevard and Sidney Street regarding a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision. Information was obtained that one of the vehicles was contacted from behind and sustained heavy damage. Due to heavy rain at the time of the collision, no charges were laid. Drivers are reminded to drive cautiously during extreme weather conditions.
