Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 and five new recoveries Friday which leaves the active case total at 24.
The health unit’s COVID-19 dashboard also shows that there is now only one person in hospital with the virus, down two from Thursday, and that person is in the ICU.
Three of the five new cases are in unvaccinated people while the remaining two are in fully vaccinated people.
The new cases are spread across the Bay of Quinte with two in Belleville, one in Quinte West, one in Prince Edward County and one on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, where there are still six active.
To date, 131,930 HPE residents over the age of 12, or 88%, have received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 120,928 people, or 81%, have received two doses and are fully vaccinated.
The outbreak on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory declared on October 5 is linked to six cases and 52 people are self-isolating.
In Northumberland County, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 Friday for a total of seven active.
