Local realtors continue to be busy.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors says it was the second best September on record with 396 homes sold last month.
However, that is a decline of 5.3% from the same month last year.
But the dollar value of all home sales in September was $264.8 million, a significant gain of 31.1% from the same month in 2020 and that is a new record.
The average price of homes sold in September 2021 was a record $668,727, rising 38.4% from September 2020.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totalled a record 3,836 units over the first nine months of the year, up 34.9% from the same period in 2020.
Meanwhile, Quinte and District Association of Realtors president Don McColl says overall inventories haven’t been this low in the month of September in more than three decades.
There were 373 active listings at the end of September, down 36.1% from the end of September 30 of last year.
