Canada’s Walk of Fame will grow by more than a dozen people when it holds its Toronto gala on December 4 and the Quinte region will be represented.
The late James Collip, born in Belleville, will join three other University of Toronto scientists Frederick Banting, Charles Best, and John Macleod on the walk for their work in the discovery of insulin.
Other inductees are actors Keanu Reeves and Graham Greene, retired Lieutenant-General and senator Romeo Dallaire, and musician Bruce Cockburn.
Also on the list announced Wednesday honouring Canadian excellence and achievement are singer-songwriter Jully Black, late blues artist Salome Bey, wrestling star Bret (The Hitman) Hart, Olympic champion decathlete Damian Warner, and Cargojet CEO Ajay Virmani.
