It many not even be Thanksgiving yet but the City of Belleville is already looking ahead to the holiday season.
The city is seeking donations of large spruce trees for its annual Festival of Lights program.
Trees should be 24 feet (7.4 metres) or taller.
The City of Belleville will remove suitable trees from local private properties or businesses at no cost to the owner.
Residents or businesses that would like to donate are asked to contact the city’s Parks and Open Spaces department at 613-967-0036 before Friday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m. or submit the information online.
After their use in the Festival of Lights, donated trees will be chipped and used as mulch in the city’s ongoing park program.
