The Prince Edward Agricultural Society’s second annual drive-thru event at the Picton Fairgrounds last month raised $5,000 for local charities.
With the Picton Fair postponed for a second year due to the pandemic, the Agricultural Society once again hosted a drive-thru which saw more than 1,500 people cruise through the fairgrounds to take in the agricultural-themed displays and enjoy some fair food.
Admission was free but donations were being accepted for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Picton United Church Food Bank and the Storehouse Food Bank.
Of the $5,000 raised, $2,000 was donated to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Fund’s Back the Build Campaign and $1,500 went to each food bank.
