Hastings Prince Edward Counties have hit another vaccination milestone.
Eighty percent of Hastings and Prince Edward residents aged 12 and older are now fully vaccinated.
HPE Public Health says 88% have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
The health unit reported just one new case of COVID-19 on Friday.
The new case is an unvaccinated female between the age of 19 and 29 in Prince Edward County.
The transmission cause is pending.
With five recoveries since Thursday, the current number of active cases has dropped to 39.
The number of people in hospital has fallen to three with two people in the ICU.
Two outbreaks remain active. Two cases are connected to the outbreak at St. Mary Catholic School and five are linked to one at Bain Park in Trenton.
The health unit’s dashboard shows 22% of COVID cases since July 1 have been breakthrough cases.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported one new case Friday in Northumberland.
There are six active cases.
