Hastings County is nearing the 100% mark in employee COVID-19 vaccinations as the county’s deadline approaches.
CEO Jim Pine told the meeting of county council on Thursday that the county has 883 employees.
He noted that 756 are fully vaccinated or 85.62%.
Another 70 staff members are partially vaccinated and that represents 7.92%.
“So for a total of fully and partial vaccinated employees, we have 826 in those two categories or 93.55%. There are 56 employees who are unvaccinated.”
Pine outlined some of the departments.
“We have 45 employees who are unvaccinated in our Long Term Care operation. Every employee has reported their status. In terms of the other employee groups, general government, Community and Human Services, the total staff number for that group is 256. Of that group 232 are fully vaccinated or 90.61%. A further 16 employees have their first dose. That represents 6.25%. So when you put those two groups together, full and partially vaccinated, 96.88% of that group of employees are fully or partially vaccinated. Seven are not vaccinated at this stage.”
He added, “That gives us a very clear idea of where we’re at. I thank department heads who worked really hard to get the messages out to employees.”
“We are continuing to work with those that are unvaccinated to encourage them to become compliant with our vaccination policy which as you know requires people to be fully vaccinated by the end of October.”
