A third period comeback fell short for the Picton Pirates as they lost 6-4 to the Port Hope Panthers in a Provincial Junior C hockey exhibition game.
Noah Brant, Landon McLellan, Brayden Adams and Cole Lavender scored for Picton.
The Pirates finish their pre-season tonight (Friday) in Napanee.
The regular season begins October 2 with Picton at Frankford. The Pirates home opener is Thursday October 7 when they host the Campbellford Rebels at the newly named Huff Estates arena.
The pre-season continues tonight (Friday) in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Wellington Dukes are home to the Cobourg Cougars at 7:30 while the Trenton Golden Hawks are in Lindsay.
The regular season for Wellington and Trenton begins next Friday night.
