Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk is leading a delegation to Germany later this month.
Mayor Panciuk has accepted an invitation to visit Belleville’s Sister City of Lahr, Germany.
Belleville and Lahr have been twinned since 1972 with the last Belleville delegation visiting in 2015.
This will be a smaller group than past delegations given the global pandemic.
Joining the mayor will be Councillors Carol Feeney and Bill Sandison, Belleville Police Services Chief Michael Callaghan, Vicki Bristow Ferguson from the Quinte Economic Development Commission and a handful of others.
All non-council members will be paying their own expenses.
The mayor and councillors will visit a multi-national company in Selters, Germany that has recently purchased the former Exxon Mobil plastics facility on University Avenue.
The company’s name has not been revealed yet but it will be their first investment in Canada.
The group will travel from September 29 to October 7.
