There were a half-dozen new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday by Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health, pushing the total number of active cases to 37.
There have been two recoveries since Tuesday’s report.
Four of the new cases are in unvaccinated people with one partially and the other fully vaccinated.
Two of the new cases are outbreak-related, two are due to close contact and the causes of the other two are pending.
The health unit dashboard shows there are two people in hospital, both on a ventilator in the ICU.
The only active outbreak, related to a baseball game at Bain Park in Trenton last week, now has five cases connected to it.
There has been a slight uptick in the percentage of fully vaccinated residents with 78% of local residents age 12 and up now having both doses of a COVID vaccine.
Eighty-six percent have received at least one shot.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported two new cases in Northumberland along with 12 active.
