The Belleville Police Service responded to 87 calls from September 18, 2021 at 5 a.m. to September 19, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Public Intoxication
Empire Rockfest concluded without a hitch, with the exception of only one liquor-related arrest. On September 18, 2021 at 9:40 p.m., officers arrested a 55-year-old male outside the event when they observed the male to be intoxicated. The male was arrested with being intoxicated in a public place, and was held at the BPS until sober enough to care for himself.
Domestic Assault
On September 18, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers attended a residence north of Belleville in regards to a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they saw a male exit a window of the residence in an attempt to flee police. The male was unsuccessful in his fleeing efforts and was subsequently arrested. The 27-year-old male was charged with one count of domestic assault and five counts of breaching his undertaking and was held for bail.
