The preliminary numbers for advance voting are in and across our region, turnout was up.
Advance voting for the upcoming federal election ran across the country from last Friday to Monday.
According to Elections Canada, in the Bay of Quinte riding, 21,217 people showed up to cast their vote early.
That marks an increase of 6,061 over the 43rd federal election in 2019.
Turnout was up in Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding as well.
According to the data 20,617 people voted early compared to 13,498 in 2019, a difference of 7,119.
In Northumberland-Peterborough South, voters turned out in droves for advance polls, breaking 25,000.
The data table from Elections Canada says that 25,374 people voted early last weekend compared to 19,320 in the previous election.
That’s an increase of 6,054 people.
The election is this coming Monday, September 20.
