There were six new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties and the health unit is reporting two people are now being treated in hospital in the ICU.
There have been five recoveries since Monday’s report leaving 29 active cases.
Five of the new cases are unvaccinated and one is fully vaccinated.
The HPE Public Health dashboard also shows half of the day’s new cases are in individuals 18 and under.
Three cases are in Quinte West, two in Prince Edward County and one in Belleville.
One outbreak is still ongoing – the outbreak at Caressant Care retirement residence in Marmora has been ongoing since August 27 and is responsible for a dozen cases.
Seventy-six percent of Hastings and Prince Edward residents aged 12 and up are fully vaccinated with 85% having received at least one dose.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit will not update its numbers until Wednesday but as of Monday, there were six active cases in Northumberland.
