Quinte West council will apply to the provincial government for funding to help pay for expanded and updated docks at Centennial Park.
Under the Community Building Fund the province could provide up to $500,000 for the $2.8 million project.
The city has already applied to the federal government for up $750,000 for the same project.
The work would include a lot of dredging up of contaminated sediment in the water and new culverts to improve water flow in the nearby Robert Patrick Marina and room for four boats to dock.
The project is scheduled to be completed next year.
