Prince Edward County is asking for public input as it prepares its 2022 budgets.
Mayor Steve Ferguson says the new approach will welcome more people into the conversation and raise awareness about the budgeting process.
There are several ways residents can offer their opinions:
- Fill out the online survey. Hard copies are available for pick-up at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street) and Prince Edward County Public Library branches. The survey will close on Friday, October 8.
- Check out the Have Your Say budget engagement page. You can share your ideas or questions, get answers to frequently asked questions, find links to the 2021 budget documents, and fill out the online survey.
- Attend the virtual information session on Monday, September 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The session will stream live on the County’s YouTube channel. It will also be recorded and available for viewing anytime. Have questions? Send them in advance to communications@pecounty.on.ca and staff will answer them during the session.
Results of the public consultation will be shared in October.
Capital budget deliberations are set for early December with the operating budget to be discussed in February of next year.
Those meetings will be shared live on the County’s YouTube channel.
