There were eight new cases of COVID-19 in Hastings and Prince Edward counties over the long weekend.
With 18 recoveries there are now 27 active infections in the two counties.
The HPEPH dashboard shows six of the new cases were located in Belleville and almost all of them came from close contact.
Five of the eight infections were found in unvaccinated people and three in those who are fully vaccinated.
Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health also reports that two people are being treated in hospital, one of them in intensive care.
Three outbreaks remain ongoing.
Seventy-five percent of local residents aged 12 and up are fully vaccinated while 84% have received one shot.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported two new cases Tuesday along with three active cases.
