Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee has recommended council approve rezoning allowing a 25-unit townhouse development along Cloverleaf Drive.
GCL Developments had originally proposed 31, one-to-one-and-a-half-storey townhouses but scaled the plan back after residents said the development wouldn’t fit the neighbourhood which is made up of single family homes.
The townhouses would sit on just over one hectare of land in the area of Boyd Park.
Staff say the new plan’s density is 24.5 dwelling units per hectare which is considered low density in the Official Plan and offers more variety in housing types.
City council will make a final decision on the application.
