The LoveSong Seniors Housing and Community Hub project in Bloomfield continues to make progress.
The LoveSong team is renovating the former Pinecrest School in Bloomfield to create a community of 50 affordable housing units for seniors.
A new red steel roof has been added to the pavilion, donated by Picton Home Hardware and installed by Harlan and Dominick of Brough Roofing.
Five summer student employees spent 1,300 hours clearing out the building in preparation for the next stage of renovating the classrooms.
The Lovesong team has also successfully applied for Federal SEED funding from Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation which will go towards the completion of the design drawings for stage one of the multiple phases of buildings on the 20-acre property.
Stage one will include a commercial kitchen, medical and or office centre, and community hub for recreation and sports which will be open to the public.
