Belleville police had to use pepper spray to subdue a man Wednesday night on Coleman Street.
Officers were called around 10 o’clock to reports of disruptive behaviour.
A 36-year-old Belleville man was eventually arrested after first attempting to fight with police.
Meanwhile, around 20 minutes later city police were called to the Quinte Mall after reports of a woman armed with a knife.
Officers calmed her down and she dropped the knife. An 18-year-old Belleville woman was arrested.
No one was injured.
