The Trenton Golden Hawks have named not one, but two captains for the upcoming OJHL season.
Dalton Bancroft and Brannon Butler will carry the G-Hawks leadership after a season wiped out by the COVID pandemic.
Bancroft is a Quinte Red Devils graduate. The Centre Hastings native says he has never been a captain before. Neither has Butler who joins Trenton from the Cobourg Cougars.
Golden Hawks Head Coach/GM Peter Goulet says “When selecting the guys to wear letters, you are looking for men who will lead by example. They are guys who will talk to teammates, be accountable to everyone on the team, on the bench, and in the community. They are an extension of the coaching staff.”
The Golden Hawks open the new OJHL season on October 1 against Cobourg.
The Wellington Dukes also open on October 1 when they host Mississauga.
