Belleville Senators goaltender Filip Gustavsson has re-signed with the Ottawa Senators.
It’s a two year contract that will pay him $750,000 U.S. when he plays in the NHL and $125,000 U.S. when he plays in Belleville.
The second year is a one-way contract worth $825,000U.S.
The 23-year-old Gustavsson made his NHL debut with Ottawa last season. He had a 5-1-2 record with a team-best 2.16 goals against average and a .933 save percentage. He also made 13 AHL appearances with the Belleville Senators where he has played the last three years.
Ottawa/Belleville Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion said “We were very pleased with Filip’s performance last season. After spending the early part of the year playing in Sweden, it was evident to us that he is committed to continually improve his overall game. He’s someone we regard as a high end talent and we’re looking forward to seeing his progress in 2021-22.”
Gustavsson has appeared in 75 games over three seasons with Belleville with a 3.2 goals against average and .894 save percentage.
