As we enter the third week of the federal election campaign the polls are beginning to provide a picture of which way local ridings are leaning.
In the Bay of Quinte, currently represented by Liberal MP Neil Ellis, the polls on 338 Canada show the riding is leaning slightly toward the Conservative Party of Canada, represented locally by Ryan Williams.
The polls have the Conservatives with a projection of 38.5% of the vote to the Liberals’ 32.5%.
Closer to the start of the campaign, 338 Canada had the Liberal Party leading in the Bay of Quinte but in the last week the Conservative Party took over the lead.
In neighbouring Hastings, Lennox and Addington, represented by former Conservative and now Independent candidate Derek Sloan, the projected margin is a little wider in favour of the Conservative Party.
The polls show a projection of 43.2% of the vote going to the Conservatives’ Shelby Kramp-Neumann followed by 33.5% for the Liberals’ Mike Bossio.
These projections indicate the riding as “CPC Likely”.
In Northumberland-Peterborough South, the projections have incumbent Conservative Philip Lawrence retaining his seat.
The projections also deem this riding as “CPC Likely” with the tories projecting to get 41.8% of the vote while the Liberals’ Alison Lester is projecting to net 30.4% of the vote.
