One man was arrested for assault after an incident downtown Thursday afternoon.
Belleville Police were called around 1 p.m. for reports of a man causing a disturbance.
Through investigation they found that one man had assaulted someone.
Officers then arrested the 49-year-old man, who is not being named to protect the identity of the victim, and charged him with assault.
The man is being held for a bail hearing happening Friday.
