Concerned citizens stopped a suspected impaired driver from leaving a Napanee residence with two young children.
Lennox and Addington OPP say police were called around 1:30 Friday morning after witnesses heard a loud argument and observed a male trying to drive away with the two children.
Witnesses were able to prevent him from leaving until police arrived on scene.
The driver was arrested and the children were returned to a safe place and Family and Children’s Services was contacted.
A 38-year-old male from Greater Napanee is facing impaired charges.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
