By sometime next week Hastings County’s website will feature a new link that many residents will want to get involved with.
The finishing touches are being put on what’s known as a “Gypsy Moth Tracker” application.
Using the tracker residents can document relevant information on where Gypsy Moth caterpillars are prevalent and how much damage has been done.
The forest’s foliage in many areas of this part of the province has been destroyed by the moth’s caterpillars this year and the information will help municipalities
make their case to the province for the launch of a large aerial spraying program to control them.
