Correction: Children born on or before DECEMBER 31, 2009 can get vaccinated.
The municipality of Prince Edward County has announced a number of mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics aimed at getting younger people vaccinated.
Saturday morning the county released a list of COVID-19 vaccine clinics popping up in the next two weeks available to anyone born on or before December 31, 2009.
This follows a recent provincial announcement that vaccines would be approved for anyone born in 2009 due to some children not being able to get vaccines before school because they have later birthdays.
COVID-19 vaccines were technically only available to youth 12 and over but the recent expansion allows for youth turning 12 this year to get it even if they haven’t turned 12 yet.
The schedule for mobile vaccine clinics in the county is:
- Sunday, August 22: Wellington Park, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 24: Consecon Park, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 25: London Ave parking lot, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 31: Giant Tiger parking lot, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The clinics will be available without appointment and will have both the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines.
