Construction activity in Belleville was up slightly last month compared to the same time a year ago.
Statistics released by the city Tuesday show 95 permits with a construction value of $13.88 million were issued in July.
There was just over $13 million worth of building activity resulting from 78 permits issued in July 2020.
Year-to-date figures show $63.2 million worth of construction in the city while the first seven months of 2020 resulted in only $56.7 million.
Residential construction was down last month compared to a year ago.
There were 22 residential permits worth $6.2 million in July versus 26 permits worth $10.3 million during the same time the year before.
But one major commercial project makes up for that difference.
A permit worth $4.2 million was issued for the new Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward building which is being constructed on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
