A motorcyclist has been charged after allegedly failing to stop for police in Quinte West.
Sunday afternoon, an OPP officer on patrol on Hamilton Road observed an eastbound motorcycle driving at over twice the speed limit at approximately 170 km/hr.
The officer caught up with the motorcycle at a red light on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop however, the motorcycle operator took off at a high rate of speed.
Officers followed up at the registered owner’s address, and charged the operator.
Twenty-four-year-old Alexander Gonyou from Quinte West is charged with flight from peace officer and dangerous operation.
