The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls from August 15, 2021 at 5 a.m. to August 16, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Liquor Licence Act
On August 15, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers attended an east end location for a report of an intoxicated male who was almost hit by a motor vehicle. The officers quickly located the male and confirmed that he was heavily intoxicated due to alcoholic drinks and was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place for his own safety. The 35-year-old male from Belleville, was later released on a Part I offense notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
On August 15, 2021 at approximately 10:30 p.m., police were called to a west end location for another report of an intoxicated male who fell off his bicycle. Officers arrested a 28-year-old Belleville man for his own safety. He was later released on a Part I offense notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Break and Enter
On August 16, 2021 at approximately 12:30 a.m., police officers responded to a break and enter in progress in the west end of the city. On arrival, police located two young persons that had entered a residence by breaking a window and stole property. A 13-year-old Belleville female was arrested for possession of stolen property while a 17-year-old Belleville male was arrested for break and enter, possession of stolen property and mischief. Both were later released on a promise to appear with a court date October 19, 2021.
