CFB Trenton’s 424 Search and Rescue Squadron was in action Saturday.
The Ontario Provincial Police called for assistance after being unable to get to an injured canoeist
in the Nottawasaga River north of Barrie.
The 424 Squadron arrived on scene and was able to hoist the person into its Griffon helicopter.
The injured canoeist was then transferred to Royal Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
