Quinte Conservation is concerned about vandalism and property damage at some of its public green spaces including Macaulay Mountain.
Conservation officials say there have been the usual incidents of garbage dumping, illegal camping and damage to natural areas caused by visitors.
However, also of concern is what officials call the intentional destruction of safety signage at Macaulay Mountain in Picton which was recently installed to block off several decommissioned unoffical trails.
Other signs reminding users that motorized vehicles are prohibited have been damaged and thrown aside as well.
Severe damage has also been caused to shoreline trees at Third Depot Lake in Godfrey.
Field Operations Manager Jesse Platt says dealing with these types of incidents takes valuable time and resources away from other projects.
Quinte Conservation is asking visitors who find evidence of vandalism or illegal activities to report it through the online reporting tool at QuinteConservation.ca, or, in the instance of witnessing something firsthand, call local authorities immediately.
