The run on construction in the Bay of Quinte didn’t slow in Prince Edward County during the month of July.
Last month there were a total of 96 permits issued, for the third straight month, carrying a total construction value of $25.3 million.
That marks the most lucrative month so far this year and pushes the year’s total permit value total for the year to over $100 million.
In July of 2020 there were 85 permits issued for a total construction value of $7.4 million.
There were 18 permits issued for new houses at a value of $18.5 million, nine permits issued for renovations at a value of $2.4 million and 21 miscellaneous permits issued for a value of $1.2 million.
To date this year so far there have been 563 permits issued at a value of $25 million compared to this time last year when there were just 405 permits issued for a total construction value of $49.3 million.
