Thirteen new cases of COVID-19 were reported Friday by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
The HPEPH dashboard shows 24 cases are now active across the two counties.
There have been two recoveries since the health unit’s last report on Wednesday.
Eight of the new cases are in Quinte West.
Three are in Central Hastings with one each in Belleville and Prince Edward County.
The majority of the new cases – nine – are attributed to close contact.
Quinte West also has the most active cases with 15 of the current 24 occurring in Trenton and area.
There are now eight cases connected to an outbreak related to a private party on Hearns Road in Frankford.
Sixty-seven per cent of the local population age 12 and up is now fully vaccinated while 82 per cent have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported zero new cases Friday in Northumberland County.
One case remains active there.
