Every year, Seasons Retirement Communities in Ontario and Alberta are eager to make a positive impact on the communities in which they operate.
From July 5 to 16, Seasons Dufferin Centre took part in a friendly company-wide challenge to collect the most cans of food for food banks within their local areas. This year, staff and residents at Seasons Dufferin Centre worked together with Seasons Retirement Communities across Canada to collect more than 5,000 cans.
“As residents of the Trenton community, we’re devoted to fostering the health and happiness of our neighbours,” says Stephanie Kell, general manager at Seasons Retirement Communities Dufferin Centre in Trenton. “Food insecurity remains a prevalent problem among children and older adults. In addition to our $2,000 donation to the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank earlier this year, the One Can Challenge reinforces our commitment to supporting these vulnerable groups in our community.”
The top Seasons Retirement Communities donors were Seasons Stoney Creek with 1,462 cans, Seasons Brantford with 580 cans, and Seasons Milton with 475 cans.
Since 2016, Seasons Retirement Communities has focused its corporate giving efforts on local food banks in the towns that residents and team members call home. To date, Seasons has donated more than $180,000 in funds and food to local food banks. Seasons is proud to do its part to support local communities, especially during this time of great need.
