HPE Public health says a person who attended a graduation event associated with Bayside Secondary School and two grad parties late last month, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The graduation event was held on July 28 in Trenton and the associated parties were held at private homes in Stirling on July 28 and 29.
The health unit says that means anyone who attended any of those gatherings is now considered to be a high-risk contact, unless they have been fully vaccinated, in which case they would be considered low-risk contacts.
High-risk contacts are being told to self isolate immediately, only leaving to get tested, while low-risk contacts are also being advised to get tested and monitor for symptoms until August 12.
HPE Public Health says while it doesn’t usually disclose the location of a COVID-19 case, the information is being released in an attempt to reach as many potential contacts as possible.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Piotr Oglaza says “the pandemic isn’t over” and is urging everyone in our area to get both doses of vaccine.
