The curtain goes up on the 88th season in the South Hastings Baseball League tonight (Tues).
8 teams will play a 14 game season beginning with the Melrose Tal Trees and Read Free Flow Petroleum Young Guns tonight at 7 at Jim Uens Field in Melrose.
The game will be in memory of 28 year old Cole McFarlane who died in a car accident in June.
McFarland was a 13 year SHBL veteran with Melrose Tal Trees. Multiple generations of the McFarlane family have played in the South Hastings Baseball League.
Fans are welcome however you will need to bring your own lawn chairs and sit outside the outfield fence. And you will be asked for information for contact tracing.
