A decision could be coming as soon as Thursday on the reconstruction of County Road 49 in Prince Edward County.
The 17.3 kilometres of concrete highway linking the Skyway Bridge to Picton has been near the top of the CAA Worst Roads List for several years.
Jewell Engineering is recommending an option that would see the existing concrete fractured into pieces and replaced with asphalt at a cost of almost $23 million.
Another option is breaking up the concrete and replacing it with a new cement surface at a cost of almost $27 million.
County council’s Committee of the Whole is expected to make a decision at its meeting Thursday afternoon.
