The Bay of Quinte NDP has selected a candidate to run in next year’s provincial election.
Carrying the NDP banner will be Alison Kelly who lives in Prince Edward County, is a project manager, and currently serves as a trustee with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
Alison Kelly was acclaimed at a riding association nomination meeting Monday night.
“People in the Bay of Quinte deserve so much better than we’ve all been getting. Kids in school deserve more help and support instead of teacher and education worker layoffs. We need to treat health care and mental health like people’s lives depend on it. Families and local businesses need access to affordable, reliable internet. New Democrats will give people hope for the kind of future they deserve in Bay of Quinte and across Ontario — one with more opportunity, more affordability, and more hope. By choosing Steven Del Duca as their leader, the Liberals have shown that they have no interest in doing anything differently than they did for 15 years in government. I could not be more proud to join Andrea’s team as we prepare to give working people the kind of government they deserve in 2022.”
Other declared candidates for the June 2022 election in Bay of Quinte riding are Progressive Conservative MPP and cabinet minister Todd Smith, and Emilie Leneveu of the Liberal Party.
