It’s now been about a week since a new case of COVID-19 has been reported in Hastings Prince Edward, with no new cases again Wednesday.
There are still two active cases in the region, but no patients in hospital due to the virus.
HPE Public Health says 20% of the area’s population has now been fully vaccinated, with another 2,500 or so residents getting their second shots Tuesday.
Another 439 people got their first shot Tuesday as well, bringing the number of residents with at least one dose up to 66% of the local population.
The HKPR Health Unit says there are no new cases in Northumberland County today and nine active.
Across Ontario, there were just 255 cases reported Wednesday, with a record 227,318 vaccine doses administered Tuesday province-wide.
