The Prince Edward County Agricultural Society is looking at another drive-thru agricultural fair in 2021.
Tina Hiddink of the agricultural society told Prince Edward County council at Tuesday’s council meeting that the 2020 drive-thru fair was a success with over 1,000 cars that passed through the COVID-19 safe event.
Last year’s event featured a youth colouring contest, fair-style food and other entertainment.
She also said that they raised $5,000 in donations that went towards the PECMH Back the Build campaign as well as the Picton and Wellington food banks.
This year, said Hiddink, they want to go bigger.
“So what are we going to do? As I stated we’re going to do another drive-thru. We’ve got very positive commitments by other local organizations to make this even bigger and better. We’re promoting a beef show that will happen the weekend of August 27 and 28.”
Hiddink said this fall’s agricultural fair will happen Saturday, September 11.
