Council will weigh a resolution that asks that they declare June 2021 Indigenous History Month and June 21 as National Indigenous People’s Day in the municipality.
The resolution is also seeking that the city fly an orange flag at city hall every year on September 30 in support of the Every Child Matters movement as well as an Indigenous Culture support Flag with The Medicine Wheel year round in solidarity with Indigenous people.
Lastly the resolution asks that the city create a recognition pathway, sidewalk, and/or street crossing depicting feathers.
