The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has named its new Director of Education.
Katherine MacIver will take on the role as of July 1, for a five-year term.
MacIver brings more than 25 years of experience in both primary and secondary education, most recently as a superintendent of education at the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
Prior to that, MacIver held positions as a teacher, administrator and principal.
Her experience also includes developing programs to support Indigenous students, the COVID-19 response, literacy and more.
MacIver is replacing Sean Monteith, who took the job in 2019 and announced his resignation in April of this year.
