Quinte West OPP have released more detail on an incident involving a woman being hit by a vehicle in Trenton Friday afternoon.
Police responded to Elgin Street and Front Street at approximately 3:45 p.m. for reports of a woman who was hit by a vehicle.
The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the driver, a man, and the woman are in a domestic relationship and that an altercation had happened where it’s alleged the vehicle “made contact” with the woman.
As a result, a 63-year-old Marmora man is facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing harm, uttering threats to cause death or harm and assault with a weapon.
The man was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing Saturday.
